A well known phenological phenomenon, the swift migration, has always been a thrilling experience for me. So on the 2nd of July 2021, right before dawn, the time when these birds (apus apus) are usually very excited, I immediately set up microphones and started recording. Even though I have been recording at the exact same spot for quite some time now, I noticed at that moment a ringing sound through my headphones: a permanent electromagnetic frequency. After trying to work it out, I figured out it would be part of all my recordings from that window from now on.
